Transparent wood prepared by polymer impregnation of rubber wood (Hevea brasiliensis Muell. Arg)

چکیده

Transparent wood (TW), a new type of composite material with good optical transmittance and excellent mechanical properties, has attracted great interest in recent years. In this study, hydrogen peroxide strategy was used on rubber (Hevea brasiliensis Muell. Arg) to eliminate lignin hemicellulose. Subsequently, delignified combined each three impregnants refractive index similar that cellulose obtain transparent (TW). Impregnation polyvinyl-pyrrolidone (PVP), polyvinyl alcohol (PVOH), methyl methacrylate (MMA)) resulted woods, which were named PVP-DRW, PVOH-DRW, PMMA-DRW, respectively. The micromorphologies, chemical compositions, thermal stabilities, functional groups, transmittance, properties the raw RW processed sample characterized. results showed PVOH-DRW (76.6%, λ = 600 nm, d=0.70 mm) PVP-DRW (73.4%, d 0.74 higher than PMMA-DRW (64.6%, 0.73 mm), but had strength (fracture 230.14 MPa). Therefore, preparation as substrate is expected be potential candidate for high-strength composites.

Clonal and Planting Density Effects on Some Properties of Rubber Wood (hevea Brasiliensis Muell. Arg.)

Inter-clonal and intra-clonal wood properties and their variations from pith to bark were evaluated for wood density and anatomical features on rubber wood (Hevea brasiliensis Muell. Arg) from a 9-year-old plantation with planting densities of 500 and 2000 trees per hectare comprised of clones RRIM 2020 and RRIM 2025. Planting density had uneven effects on wood density and wood cell features. I...

Clonal stability of tree dryness in Hevea brasiliensis Muell. Arg

Clonal stability of tree dryness was evaluated in eleven clones of Hevea brasiliensis at the Rubber Research Institute of Nigeria. The experimental design was the randomized complete block with three replicates and ten trees per replicate. The clones were evaluated in three locations. Four stability parameters were applied. The stability parameters were: environmental variance, regression index...

Physiological and Molecular Responses to Variation of Light Intensity in Rubber Tree (Hevea brasiliensis Muell. Arg.)

Light is one of most important factors to plants because it is necessary for photosynthesis. In this study, physiological and gene expression analyses under different light intensities were performed in the seedlings of rubber tree (Hevea brasiliensis) clone GT1. When light intensity increased from 20 to 1000 µmol m(-2) s(-1), there was no effect on the maximal quantum yield of photosystem II (...

Mites (Acari) of rubber trees (Hevea brasiliensis Muell. Arg., Euphorbiaceae) in Piracicaba, state of São Paulo, Brazil.

This study determined the main mite species on rubber trees (clone RRIM-600) in Piracicaba, southeast of São Paulo State, from June 2002 to May 2003 and evaluated the possible relation between them. It was conducted in a plantation of 5 ha on 11 year old trees, 15 m high, surrounded with crops as pearl millet, cotton, bean or corn. Samples were taken monthly and consisted of five leaflets, five...
